Internships & Other Ventures

During my undergraduate studies, I participated in micro-internships through a university scheme, undertaking short-term, professional projects that enhanced my practical skills and industry exposure. Beyond these internships, I have engaged in professional website development, seamlessly integrating coding and design to create functional and visually appealing digital platforms. Additionally, I hold certifications in first aid, fire safety, and food safety, and have undergone an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, ensuring my preparedness and compliance for roles requiring safety and trustworthiness.

Building a website for a courier company operating between London and South America was a challenging yet rewarding experience that pushed me beyond my comfort zone. I drew on lessons from both my undergraduate and postgraduate studies—applying technical web development skills from my undergrad while integrating user experience and business strategy insights from my postgraduate work. The project required me to communicate in Spanish, a language I’m not yet fluent in, which added an extra layer of complexity but also strengthened my ability to adapt and problem-solve in unfamiliar situations. Working closely with the client, I learned invaluable lessons about collaboration, refining my approach to understanding their needs and translating them into an effective, user-friendly design. This experience not only deepened my technical and professional skill set but also reinforced the importance of flexibility, clear communication, and cultural awareness in international projects.

Obbree

I had the privilege of designing and developing the website for Obbree, a trendsetting online store based in the Isle of Man that offers handmade bespoke products. Collaborating closely with the founder, I aimed to create a digital platform that reflects their unique fusion of Italian fashion flair and island artisan craftsmanship. The website features a clean, user-friendly interface that showcases their diverse product range, including tote bags, makeup bags, and book tidies. To enhance user engagement, I integrated e-commerce functionality, allowing customers to customise and purchase products directly online. Additionally, I ensured the site is responsive across various devices and optimised for search engines to increase visibility. This project not only allowed me to apply my web development skills but also deepened my appreciation for bespoke craftsmanship and effective brand representation online.

Food Health Safety Certificate L2
I obtain a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate through an online training course. The program covered essential topics such as food hygiene practices, contamination prevention, and legal requirements for food handlers. The flexible, self-paced format allowed me to complete the course at my convenience, and upon passing the assessment, I received an accredited certification recognised by local authorities. This qualification has enhanced my understanding of food safety standards and best practices.
